Injustice:ODS is the highly anticipated superhero team up game from DC comic's Injustice video game series. With a new threat of villains appearing, and crime bosses gaining more power, the last hope of mankind will now fall under the relentless assault of these evil creatures. In this epic conclusion of the game Injustice: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, you become the legendary super hero known as Inez ( Reyes) and undertake a massive mission to save the world from destruction. Enjoy an original storyline told through the point-and-click gameplay of the Injustice:ODS game as you interact with both the characters and the environment to solve puzzles and fight enemies on your way. In this second release of the hit fighting game franchise, players will experience an all new tower defence adventure while putting everything they've learnt from their first release to the ultimate test.
The story starts with Inez waking up in a room which has been transformed into a cell. He quickly realises that his memories have been wiped out, and is searching for a means to resurfacing his memory. However, a vicious criminal has also been taken over the minds of his jail cells, and he has plans to destroy the remaining super heroes and escape. With the help of an old friend, Inez sets out on a mission to prevent the villains from taking over the city, while he searches for his own long lost daughter. Additional characters join the fight as well, and players are presented with the opportunity to enlist their assistance in the fight.
As the game opens in the future, Inez is busy looking over a list of damaged property, which list contains the names of various celebrities. One of these is his former girlfriend who has apparently fallen foul of some of the villains in the city and is being held prisoner in the building. Inez meanwhile is searching the city for a way to rescue his girlfriend and stop the villains; but he soon discovers that his girlfriend is already possessed by one of the villains. The two heroines Inez and Catwoman must work together to defeat the evil force before it can completely control the city.
For a fighting video game franchise, Injustice: Earth's Final Chapter follows the traditional fighting formula of previous titles. It features both combo attacks and special moves, and even includes some story elements. The fighting takes place mostly on screen, with few areas where motion is required, but the game thankfully does not rely too much on this feature to ensure its success.
The audio and voice over work is decent, though some of the dialogue is a little corny. Some of the fighting occurs over a computer screen, but it is difficult to judge the moves and reactions of the fighters with the little available screen-view. It can be said however, that the game's visual presentation is above average for a video game, and this game certainly looks the part. The overall graphics are fairly detailed, and are a far cry from the cel-shaded style which graced the previous games.
As with any Street fighter game, Injustice: Earth's Final Chapter provides a great deal of visual entertainment. Though it takes a while to actually play the game, once the fighting finally begins it is all worth it. The plot turns out to be entertaining, and the fighting is some of the best you will ever have in a video game. Though it lacks some features found in other titles, it still provides a fun action game. Overall, Injustice: Earth's Final Chapter is a fine game to play, and one you will definitely want to put down.
