The most recent DVD release from New Zealand's Black Label Society is The Bay Of Silence, a film directed by Simon Russell Beale. If you are looking for a film to watch with a special family or friends, you may want to consider The Bay Of Silence, as this is one of the more unique films on DVD that is currently available.
The Bay Of Silence, along with other Black Label Society titles are now available on DVD in a brand new collection called "The Black Label Collection" by The Black Label Society. The DVD comes with a new cover design and it includes all the same features as the others in their original collections. This includes bonus features, outtakes, deleted scenes, and many other special features that you would expect from a DVD release. However, watch The Bay Of Silence The BD/BRRip Collection in DVR resolution, it looks a lot better, but because the source is in a much higher quality video, the encode on the disc are much better. BBRips only downsize from HD resolution to DVD resolution, depending on whether they upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray, or Blu-ray to HD, if they change from 2160p to 1080i, etc.
The original release of The Bay Of Silence was on a SDHC (Super Disc) DVD. This format allows for much more advanced compression than what is possible on a Blu-ray disc. While the quality isn't as high as what you can find on a Blu-ray disc, the quality is still comparable. Because of this, you will have to pay for the extra expense of buying a Blu-ray disc if you plan on watching The Bay Of Silence on a Blu-ray disc. On top of that, a SDHC disc is much more expensive than a standard DVD, so unless you plan on watching The Bay Of Silence many times or you plan on watching it on a regular basis, a standard DVD is the better option for you.
The Blu-ray version of The Bay Of Silence contains a brand new cover design, which is almost as good as the original cover design. Although there is nothing on the front of the box that says this was originally made for the Blu-ray disc, it still looks very nice. As far as the extras, we would like to point you to a site called MyPCMagnet where you can get your hands on the first official trailer for The Bay Of Silence. as well as a new trailer for The Bay Of Silence on Blu-ray as well as two trailers for other future New Zealand films.
There are a few reviews available on the Internet about this movie, but we can't vouch for them since most of the reviews were made in a theater and not in our home theater. Overall, if you are looking for a unique movie and want something different, then this movie should be considered, but the general consensus is that The Bay Of Silence is a great film. With the extras on this disc, it definitely adds some spice to the movie.
The next movie from The Black Label Society, to be released on DVD is "A View To A Kill", which stars Tom Cruise as James Donovan and Robert Shaw as John Paul Deane. The Bay Of Silence is expected to be released on March 7th, 2020. It has also been confirmed that this will be the first film from the franchise, the next film, in a decade or so. It will be released across the world but is already available in over 20 languages.
