Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge has made waves online and off with its in-depth action game which includes the Kintaro and Shao Kahn warriors, more than 100 diverse weapons, thousands of combatants and the (for now) final two outfits. The movie has been quite successful and this has become its sequel.
Online gaming is currently a rage and you can enjoy hours of online games online without even leaving your house. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge has a lot of history behind it as the main characters are the regular Mortal Kombat warriors, like Sub-Zero, Kitana, Raiden, Sonya Blade, and Ermac. The character Astaroth, who is set to be the new villain, also appeared in the movie, as well as Scorpion and his allies.
The movie comes with hours of Kung Fu, fancy moves, special moves, and thousands of combinations. The side-scrolling action game is mostly centered on fighting. Every move will have an animation. The story is full of huge changes to what is in the actual game, which makes it interesting to watch.
As a young child, I had a chance to play the Sega Genesis version of the Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks story, the storyline of the first sequel to the story. However, it was quite confusing for me since the game doesn't follow the script very closely, so there is no real connection between the second game and the first one.
In this game, there are new characters in the fighting game franchise. You have to compete with your friends and even complete a couple of challenges to advance to higher levels. Some of the game modes are story mode, competition, and a quick play. It would be a good idea to finish the story mode first to get the "Kombatant" trophy.
For me, the competition mode was best. It gives you a chance to pit yourself against an AI opponent and see how well you can battle him. Each character has its own story to tell and I felt that the "hidden" story mode, as well as the secret characters were better than the third installment. You might want to play against each character one after another, as this is how they move in the game.
As far as online games go, Mortal Kombat: Revelations comes highly recommended. It offers more variety and a lot of challenging fights and has the added benefit of having a replay feature so you can replay matches and get a feel for what each character does in each of the fights.
Overall, online games can be quite fun. This game has lots of hidden stories and being able to complete all three of the games that surround the story (the original game, the sequel, and the expansion) is quite interesting. Although, I would recommend this game to those who are new to the franchise or are a little more advanced in terms of knowledge.
