Irresistible is a very popular film series in Germany. This film series has been going on for more than 25 years and over the years, the movie has been adapted to other languages, but most often German subtitles are used. The series is based on a series of novels written by Franck von Bondi.

The story starts from the first book in the series titled "A Journal of Courage". In this book the protagonist Joanna lives in a small country farm called Soltau in Prussia. She is looking forward to having a good time with her friends in a nature reserve that she has always wanted to visit. At this point she is still living in her home and her husband has not seen her for a long time.

One day a local drunk, who looks like a young man named Joseph, knocks on her door. He is there on business and can't wait to get back with his partner. She becomes aware of him right away and when he leaves she tells her friends about this strange man.

One of the other friends has the same feelings for Joseph and for Josie, so they decide to invite Joseph and Josie into their house. They were able to do that because Joseph was in the military as a young boy.

Their friends have a big party but one of the guests, a man named Richter, becomes a menace to them all and for Josie as well. She was able to control him by inviting Joseph, but not before he broke through the floor in the kitchen.

Later Richter is invited to a dinner with all his friends in their house. Joanna is also invited along with Joseph and Josie, as they feel that it is not wrong to invite the drunk, which is a known bad influence on Richter.

When the invitation was being made, Joseph gave her a present and she took it from the table and put it in her bag. She was worried about it and waited for her friends to arrive, while Joseph went and sat down at the table with Joseph.

But she was caught out when Richter asked her for information about his sister who is in trouble. To her horror, she found out that her present had been used by Joseph and they left the house with Joseph and the suitcase.
