"I'm Your Woman" (2020) is a film that star Matt Damon, Kevin Spacey, Edward Herrmann, and singer Cher. An ailing woman is forced on her own run after her recently married husband is caught betraying his lovers in crime. The supporting cast consists of Ed Harris and Carrie Fisher. This movie was not well received by critics, but the box office success made it worth seeing. It was also famously re-shot in the final scene with Al Pacino.
The movie begins in the late sixties in Boston where a young woman is at home waiting for her baby to arrive when her babysitter is brutally murdered. Years later, the woman's son is taken away from her when she calls 911 to report that her son has run away. The babysitter had been threatened before her death so her call is ignored. Years later a newlywed couple returns to the home and finds the boy tied to a bed. The husband, who is an alcoholic, had previously been married to the babysitter but now tells the couple about his affair with the woman.
Damon stars as the drunken husband. Spacey plays the wife, while Cher plays the daughter in the movie. They reunite several times throughout the movie. Damon plays the father and Spacey plays the son. The movie takes place in many scenes that occur in real life including trips to a restaurant, a bar, and a grocery store.
Several other characters from the earlier movies appear in "I'm Your Woman". One of them is Frank Grillo, who played the title role in the earlier film "My Fair Lady". He appears again in this movie as a truck driver. He drives the couple to their new home, where the babysitter is being attacked by the drunk driver. Spacey also reprises his role of Dan Butler, who was in the first "My Fair Lady" movie.
One interesting scene in "I'm Your Woman" involves the police interviewing several men about the babysitter. One of the suspects is Damon. When the woman realizes that Damon is really the same person who killed her babysitter, she backs off and starts to look for clues. Damon meanwhile enters the room and kills the woman. This movie shows how dynamic Spacey is within a relationship.
Overall, the movie does have some good one liners like when Spacey seduces Damon and the police are searching for the culprit. However, there are many weak aspects that ruin the movie. Mainly, the way Damon and Spacey play the lovers and ruin many innocent lives in the process. If you like "I'm Your Woman", then you'll probably like "The Thin Red Line" as well.
