A grieving British woman tries to unravel the mysterious roots of her dead mother's mysterious curse connected to a South African witchcraft ritual. But instead of putting an end to the ghostly hex, it cast her deeper into darker realms. With help from an online Internet detective team, she uncovers the dark secrets behind the Heks. It will help her put together the clues to bust a blood-thirsty vamp and bring peace to her chaotic life once and for all.
The Heks are a clan of vamps that have been enslaving humans since prehistoric times. When a pregnant British woman murdered her stepmother, it was done so with the Heks by draining her body of blood to drink. In doing so, the Heks drained her of strength and energy, leaving her in a weakened state. This is when she decided to murder her mother and drink her blood in an attempt to appease the spirits of the dead. The Heks drained her of her strength and soon after she was reborn as a powerful witch-like creature who now seeks to protect England from darkness.
Heks set the stage for an equally haunting experience for an internet sleuth team as they uncover the Heks' dark secret. Using digital sleuthing skills, the online investigators unearth a trail of blood that leads them directly to the culprit: a south African witch doctor named Milton Heks. The digital investigation uncovers evidence pointing to the fact that Heks has been killing people ever since he was a small boy. And while he claims to only practice medicine for his own personal gain, the sleuths quickly find out that the real purpose of this medical practitioner is to unleash the Heks in order to perform their dark magic.
Meanwhile, the online sleuth teams learn that the Heks hex has been displayed on a website. Upon further digging, the sleuth teams learn that the website is run by a middle aged woman who calls herself Mrs. van der Goes. When questioned by the digital sleuths, she refuses to answer many of their questions, including why she wants to kill the Heks and what she intends to do with their blood. However, one of the sleuths manages to extract information from her that shocks even him. The grieving British girl has been repeatedly offered drinks by the Heks, but she refuses each time, stating that she has nothing to drink.
Now, it is up to the online sleuths to expose Heks and the evil intentions he has. In order to do this, the digital sleuth teams enlist the aid of an ancient and powerful anti-virus program called "js." The us has the ability to locate computers infected with the Heks hex, allowing the online sleuths to identify and free the British girl. The Heks Hex is taken out of the internet, and a message is left on the Heks homepage reading, "I WANT TO MAKE SPAGHETE II STOP THE LOVE MAIL WRONG DOOR." The British girl agrees to help the online sleuths solve the mystery, but she demands that they destroy the Heks' web hosting server in return.
Overall, this movie had real scares and a very twisted plot. I don't think anyone can take the Heks for granted, especially since it's a movie from the 80s. But, the movie was well worth the few minutes it took to get through all the scariest scenes. Overall, this is one of the best horror movies you'll ever see, and it's definitely a good watch if you just want to have a good time sitting and thinking.
