One of the most popular TV series in the world, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated series 'The Wire' is also in the running for Best Television Series, Drama. Based on the Baltimore city, the storyline revolves around drug trafficking and lawlessness. To the viewers, it is a rich and complex story of crime and corruption that can affect people in different ways.
However, while some people may be aware of the story, very few people can place the show into context or understand the impact that the television series has had on the community leaders who wrote the script. There is a hunger for a book about the series. In fact, the other Hamilton movie, 'Alexander Hamilton', starring Phillipa Soo has also generated interest from booksellers.
With all the number of spin-off shows that make their debut on the American television screens every year, it can be quite challenging to produce a book on Hamilton. However, Hollywood has been able to make their mark on the Hamilton saga. Both a book and a film has been released with the title, 'Hamilton', which serves as the first installment in the trilogy, 'Alexander Hamilton' (set in 1776).
The first book in the 'Alexander Hamilton' trilogy was released in 2020, with 'Dear Mr Hamilton' written by Jordan Harbinger. This book had a strong focus on the character of Aaron Burr and the circumstances that led him to be a ruthless politician. The other Hamilton movie, 'Alexander Hamilton', starring Phillipa Soo, is set in the same era but focuses more on the character of George Washington. It is set after the death of Jefferson Davis and before the formation of the new United States government.
In 2020, Harry Shearer wrote 'Hamilton' (the second book in the trilogy) and starred in the movie, 'Hoosiers'. While this is a sequel to the original novel, it concentrates more on the story of the earlier show and the time period between its first and second seasons. On the other hand, the third Hamilton movie, 'Allegiance', directed by Jon Favreau and starring Danny Glover, contains elements from the first two seasons.
Since then, fans of the Hamilton saga have been looking forward to more projects from Hollywood and Hamilton-themed movies have kept on coming out of Hollywood. New releases include 'The Hamilton Mixtape', which is about a musician who collaborated with the show's Founding Father and became the musical's founding father's illegitimate son, 'Hamilton's: Heir, Volume I', which was a limited edition book that was given away as a freebie to movie theaters that showed the Broadway show.
Even with all these recent releases, there are still many unanswered questions. What about the first episode of the series, when an organization called The Oneida Nation came and claimed that Thomas Jefferson had stolen a sacred Indian artifact? Or the theory that Alexander Hamilton was not really the Founding Father because he was a covert member of the Illuminati who stole a key from the Illuminati?
Whether or not those theories would ever get aired in a Hamilton movie remains to be seen. Fans of the show will have to wait until more Hamilton movies to hit the screen. If you are a fan, stay tuned for more information!
