"The Justice League: War" is the second installment of the critically acclaimed Justice League animated film franchise. Fuelled by an unexpected restored faith in humankind, and inspired in part by Superman's unselfish act of heroism, Bruce Wayne assembles new ally Diana Prince to fight an even greater evil. In addition to these two unlikely allies, the Justice League also includes Zatanna, Impulse, Supergirl, The Shade, The Martian, and a few other interesting characters that make up the colorful team.
The story begins with a visit to the world of Oa, where a young boy named Vulko is killed in a battle between two of the members of the Justice League, namely Superman and Wonder Woman. The Justice League has been invited to take a look at the events taking place on Earth in the comic books, and so they are called upon to help. After a quick examination, however, the Justice League finds themselves at the mercy of a group of criminals who call themselves the Horde. Meanwhile, a mysterious force known as The Shade sets out to destroy the Justice League with an army of mystical beings that include bats, unicorns, demons and dragons.
In order to protect themselves from the Horde, The Justice League has to find a way to infiltrate the city of Oa. But even before they enter the city, their first challenge arises when an old foe from the comics reappears. This time, however, the Justice League discovers that this familiar enemy has a much larger agenda than just destroying the Justice League. Meanwhile, the rest of the Justice League is also caught off-guard, and some are even forced to put their lives at risk as a result of their failure to prepare adequately.
In order to combat this onslaught, The Justice League has to go toe-to-toe with the forces of The Shade, an evil sorcerer who has mastered the art of illusion. He has been responsible for some of the most devastating disasters in history, such as the destruction of many ancient civilizations and entire civilizations in the distant past. However, The Shade is not the only character on this team that must face a challenge; many of the Justice League members must also face the dark side of their own personalities, as well as the dark side of the Justice League itself.
When it comes to the Justice League's ability to fight, the show does a very good job. The animation sequences are very well done, and the Justice League looks very convincing. The Justice League costumes look great and each member is very animated, especially the female members who all have intricate detail on their costumes.
The Justice League: War is a very fun movie. The animated sequences are entertaining, as they should be, and the voiceover work is top-notch, as the voice actor talent of Tom Welling does a fine job for the majority of the series.
