The very first Godzilla movie I can remember was on TV back in 1954. For some reason, that movie has always stayed with me. It was called King Kong and starred Godzilla. I'm not going to lie to you, that movie was awesome! If you have not seen it yet, trust me, you need to.
Godzilla is a huge movie monster that will be one of the biggest films of all time when it comes to worldwide box office successes. There are not nearly as many Godzilla movies made now as I would like. In fact, there actually were a ton more of those goings on back in'1954'. So feel sorry for you little kids (ages in this case being decided by when you first saw a bunch of Godzilla films). Because if you ever see a Godzilla film you will understand why this man makes the big time.
In Godzilla, screened in both the US and Japan (yes, in both countries, same movie), the main protagonist is a giant Japanese lizard named Godzilla. Godzilla is raised (no pun intended) from a young age by human parents who don't want him to grow up too strong. When Godzilla grows up, he seeks revenge on the people who killed his mother and end up battling his way through town and country until he knocks down the Japanese government building which houses the original Godzilla toys.
What makes Godzilla an icon is not just his appearance but the way he rises to rage over a volcano and destroy everything in his path. People loved this guy because they understood he was a huge monster and the destruction he caused was almost devastating. This is also why the Godzilla franchise has had such a long and impressive run of movies and games. Not only have they created a character that is respected around the world but they have also created a successful and long running series of Godzilla Raids, films and games.
If you love Godzilla and are a gamer at heart then there are several online gaming communities dedicated to this great monster. A couple of the most popular online game communities for Godzilla games are Godzilla Online and Godzilla Ultimatum. These games are highly realistic with accurate 3D graphics, countless sound effects and user generated maps. The detail and quality of these games make them a great option for fans of Godzilla and those new to the series. You can even purchase a gift certificate for yourself and buy yourself a copy of the Godzilla vs. mothra movie!
If you love Godzilla and want to see more of the King of the Monsters, why not visit the Godzilla Museum? This museum features all sorts of memorabilia from the classic Godzilla films, Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Not only does the museum allow visitors to view many of the movies that made Godzilla famous, but you can also purchase the original art from the movie and other amazing items. The only downside to this wonderful attraction is that it is located in Nagoya, Japan not in Tokyo, which means that you will probably have to use some local transportation to get to the museum, but it is well worth the trip!
