Psycho is a masterpiece. I don't know how many times I have watched this masterpiece since it was first released. For years I can't decide what is my favorite scene in the entire movie. After a while, they all started to blend together and now all that remains is to say I liked this movie.
As a paranoid schizophrenic, I am accustomed to watching movies about famous people with weird habits. Psycho is a unique film, mostly because of the true story of Norman Bates. Now I will give a short synopsis of the story so as not to bore you.
At an early age, Norman was hospitalized by his father, in order to make him mentally stable. It was not really known as to why he was schizophrenic or why he got into bed with a woman who turned out to be just a nurse. Because of this he was put into the care of a mental institution for three years. While in the mental institution, he met his mother who gave him a lot of support and he did manage to get over his schizophrenic disorder.
One day he was brought out of the mental institution and asked to return home. While returning home, he was shot and killed by a drug dealer, thereby leading to the death of his sister. From then on, he kept his sister's body and left town.
After he returned to the community and his past life came back to haunt him, he fled back home. He was spotted by his sister's murderer, who was being chased by the police. Norman managed to escape from the criminal who was subsequently arrested.
He was put on trial for his sister's murder and this led to the obtaining of blood money from the community of his sister's killers. After his conviction, Norman left town and would go on to lead a solitary life. After some time, the people of his hometown would start hearing noises and his belongings were stolen.
While he was out in the woods, he started hearing strange sounds which started as faint whispers. From this, he figured out that he was being followed by a person. His only chance at survival was to reenact the murders of his sister and the man who did it, so he did.
He could have been arrested for the crime but after trying to copy the murders himself, he could not do so. After one of the murders the murderer's body was found and his blood stained it. After discovering this, Norman changed his mind and did not try to alter the crime scene, believing that it would bring shame to the community. After this he realized that the only way he could survive the towns of Los Angeles was to follow his sister's killer to ensure that he was caught.
